Canzonetta Courses Privacy Notice

This privacy notice sets out how Canzonetta Courses uses and protects any information that you give us.

Canzonetta Courses will be what is known as the ‘controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect information about you which we need to provide and charge for our services. This will include your name, date of birth, your address, your email address and phone numbers. In the case of your choosing to pay by bank transfer or, in the case of overseas members, by credit card we may collect a range of additional information including bank details to enable us to process your payments.

Why we need your data
We need to know your basic personal data to provide you with on-going organisational information and, if appropriate, to raise invoices for the services you receive from us. We will also use your information to communicate with you about opportunities from ourselves which are of specific music education benefit to you but only if we have received your consent to do so. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need in order to provide this service.

What we do with your data
All the personal data we hold is processed only by the Course Administrator and the Artistic Director. We will not share your information and no third parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

How long we keep your data
We will only keep your data for as long as necessary.

For information relating to billing for our services, we are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of six years after which time it will be destroyed if no subsequent bookings have been made.

What are your rights?
Under GDPR, you are entitled to access your personal data (otherwise known as ‘right to access’). If you wish to make such a request, please do so in writing to Fiona Clucas, canzonetta Courses, 98 Wythenshawe Road, Manchester, M23 0PA. A request for access to your personal data means you are entitled to a copy of the data we hold on you- such as your name, address, contact details, date of birth, financial information etc. but does not mean you are entitled to the documents that contain this data.
If at any point you believe the information we process about you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can request to have the matter investigated independently. If you have consented to us using your information for the communication of future courses, or for the use of photographic images in our promotions etc., you are free to withdraw this consent at any time by contacting canzonetta@virginmedia.com. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are not processing your personal data in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office https://ico.org.uk

What are cookies?
