HIGHLIGHTS OF 2024
Chester Choral Week has celebrated over thirty years of bringing people together to make wonderful music. Formerly taking place at Harrogate and Cranleigh, Chester provides a beautiful setting for our week of singing, within the pleasant grounds of the University of Chester, near the Roman and historical surrounds of the city.
Our Summer Choral Week attracts singers from Europe and beyond and is the largest gathering of its kind of adult choral singing in the country. Its success is built upon a combination of excellence in singing and choral directorship, concert performances and a healthy encouragement to socialise! Singers participate in two concerts: The Choral Concord, singing in chamber choirs and in the North of England Festival Chorus (NEFCho) Concert, singing large choral works and accompanied by a professional orchestra. Many of our participants return year after year for friendship, fun and music making creating a warm and welcoming CCW Community!
We are also very proud to offer singing lessons and masterclasses as part of the week. Many participants feel inspired to do one or both and gain much confidence in their singing technique and development and go on to sing in other groups and choirs for the rest of the year. Newcomers are made to feel welcome. The enjoyment and excitement the week generates is infectious!
