This year, for the very first time, Chester Choral Week is offering a unique opportunity for singers between 18-26 to join and create their own Scholars' Choir. We believe that singing at Chester Choral Week, at this level, will prepare you for university, college or professional studies in singing and music.

Participants will be taught by our Chester Choral Week Choral Tutors – accomplished professionals in choral music, classical music, conducting and accompanying. They can also take part in masterclasses and singing lessons during the week.

Choral Scholars will sing in their own Scholars Choir at the Choral Concord Concert and join the rest of the members to perform in the North of England Festival Chorus performance in Chester Cathedral.

Alongside this they have the opportunity to conduct or accompany a choir, under the tutelage of our own highly experienced conductors and accompanists.

These places will be very limited in number and suitable for young music students, or those who already perform regularly in their conservatoire or church choir. Young people who haven’t studied music, but who have proficient singing skills are also welcome!
